Innovation Test Runs Vienna–St.Pölten Vienna/Lower Austria, Austria In the course of the start of operation of the new railway route Vienna–St.Pölten extensive measurement parameters were examined during high-speed runs carried out for this purpose. The measurements comprise the recording of emissions during train passages, the effectiveness of the floating track slab systems in Lainzer Tunnel, the dynamic interaction of bridge structures and the behaviour of the track system in case of velocities up to V = 330 km/h. On the basis of the recorded measurement data important findings regarding safety relevance, effectiveness and efficiency could be acquired. The surveys prepared represent the basis for the start of operation of the route in December 2012.
