Main inspection of the 340 metre long cable-stayed bridge over the Danube.
The main inspection of the Donaustadt Bridge was carried out according to the regulations of the Wiener Linien. A touching distance inspection of all accessible elements was carried out. The rest of the bridge was checked by a visual inspection.
The "Donaustadt" bridge is 340 meters long with a main span length of 186 m. It was designed as a cable-stayed bridge with one 75-meter-high A-shaped pylon made of steel and with steel girders. The 370-meter-long structures over the Danube Island and the New Danube are made of prestressed concrete.
In addition to that coat thickness measuring and weld testing were undertaken. Maintenance works at the corrosion protection and at the abutments had been done directly during the main inspection.
